Scrapbook Meetup

  • May 4, 2012 5:30 PM

Hi there,

It’s been a while since my last post. I’ve been busy with some spring-cleaning and housework so forgive my absence. Nevertheless, I’ve been creating and found time to participate in my local scrapbook club. Last weekend Virginia, one of our scrapbook experts, prepared a project for us. She kept the task a secret and we were all dying to see what she had in store.

Finally the moment arrived and the mystery was solved… she presented us with delightful mini and kindly provided all paper and embellishments for the project.

She even set up her sawing machine and we all had opportunity to try something new in our scrapbooking adventure. I have to admit it’s been lots of fun sewing together the pages and some embellishment and I’ve never tried it in my previous projects. After putting behind my fears I loved to exercise a new skill and I am definitely going to use more of that technique. Thanks Virginia for this enchanting experience .

To keep things short… we were painting, spraying, stitching and experimenting with new dies, embossing folders and most importantly laughing our heads off. You could lighten up Champs – Elysees with that positive energy we shared ;) .

Here’s finished project, sorry for quality of pictures, I used my iPod so they’re not great but I hope you get the idea how cool the mini turned out. I’ll show you more of it when I’ll fill it up with my favorite things.

Hi there,

Sorry for little break. Today I have for you card I made for my mother- in- low. It fits perfectly with a theme on Marianne’s Design Divas blog challenge, “Spring into spring”.

I used a basket and mini flower die by Marianne Design, isn’t it adorable?

From You Know Whoo…

  • March 15, 2012 6:03 PM

Hi there,

How are you today? Spring is in the air in Paris for three days now!!! I hope it ‘ll last as I miss the sun.
Inspired by weather, but as well by Hero Arts “Spooky Trifold Window Card” I made this adorable little owl card. I had lots of fun making it. You should try to make one too. It requires quite a lot of decorating but it’s totally worth the effort.

To make my card I used:

Cream card stock cut to 29.5x11cm;
Inks: Stamping up “not quite navy, Ranger distress ink “Walnut stain”,” Tea Die”, “Tattered Rose” and “Wild Honey”, Archival Jet Black ink;
Brown card stock from Toga, that I embossed with a wood effect embossing folder and distressed with sandpaper;
Leaf punch; and Fiskars oval shape cutting templates;
Digital owl image that I received long time ago from a friend and I really don’t remember where is it from, sorry;
Two eyes for the owl; some ribbon and acrylic paint for clouds,and some stars from my stock;
Stamps: Hero Arts- cling hearts, insects are from Toga set;
Don’t forget big dose of happy thoughts! ;)

UHK Gallery has challenge with “Birds” as a theme, so I swoop in with my owl.

Happy scrapbooking and see you soon.

Second happy news came from LA FOURMI CREATIVE, one of my favorite online shops, where “My Journal” card has came ex- aequo in the first place.
I’m very, very happy and can’t wait to get some new stuff and create ,create, create!

Happy scrapbooking and see you soon.

Deliciousness

  • March 9, 2012 12:18 PM

Hi there,

I love cooking and I love trying cuisine from all over the world. When ladies from UHK Gallery came up with challenge “Przepysznik” in loose translation and lovingly “ Deliciousness book” or more commonly- recipe book, I thought why not to share my little treasure.
It’s rather simple but practical. I didn’t decorate it too much so it doesn’t obstruct me in the kitchen while using it. It has a pocket at the back, for bits and pieces from magazines and in front, smaller booklet shaped like a teapot for sweet recipes. BTW, if you’re interested I will gladly share the template with you.

Happy scrapbooking and see you soon.

You’ve Got a Friend in me

  • March 5, 2012 6:13 PM

Hi there,

It’s really miserable weather in my place today, brrr… The best place to be is my little crafty corner.
Some time ago I came across really talented children’s book author, illustrator and speaker website. Her name is Elizabeth O. Dulemba. On her website she hosts a COLOURING PAGE TUSDAY event where she kindly shares her beautiful art with others. For free you can download a jpeg file with an image, of course giving credit to the artist by linking to her website and spreading the word about her beautiful books. Here’s link to her website: www.dulemba.com

I’ve already once used her drawing in a halloween card. When I’ve seen that gorgeous elephant (I hope Elizabeth will forgive my little modification), I knew what I wanted to use it for… a card for my best friend. We’ve been friends for nearly 30 years now and despite the distance between us nothing has ever changed.
Ladies from Our Creative Corner came up with a delightful “Making Melody” theme for a challenge this week and here’s a song and a card for my best friend, Randy Newman’s … “You’ve got a friend in me”.

My Journal

  • March 2, 2012 3:25 PM

Hi there,

As it is almost springtime I decided to use more vivid colours in my latest creation. It’s step card, which is a lot of fun to make. I used stamp from Stampavie “Rea with journal” which I coloured using water brush and distress inks. The papers are scraps if I remember correctly the denim is from Dovecraft,“Funky Vintage” -really cool designs. I made the flowers using movable window shape “Daisy” from Sizzix. I doodled on them with micron finliners to keep up with a journaling feel of the design. To put it all together and to add dimension to the card I placed the embellishment with 3D foam.
Ladies from Our Creative Corner challenged us with “Over the edge”, Divas by Designwith “Spots and/or stripes” and Scrapbook Sisters with “Spring flowers”.
